Project Blaauwberg

As a result of the business community taking on the challenge to play a leadership role in the area of entrepreneur development that equips our youth to become job creators, we are proud to introduce Project Blaauwberg as a result of a well researched, developed and tested plan under the name of BBN – Building Bridges Nationwide.

The plan has been developed to roll out in phases as follows:

Phase 1:

Research and development to produce a workable plan. This was a period of innovative thinking and preparation.

Phase 2:

Testing and acceptance of the BBN plan. During this phase a significant number of businessmen/women and members of the public accepted and supported the BBN Plan. Our work at the Elkanah House, High School, Table View and Sinenjongo High School, Joe Slovo Park, Milnerton was well received and produced positive results.

Phase 3:

The current phase has been developed to grow BBN Blaauwberg-wide so that a much larger business and public support base is achieved before the programme is launched in more schools throughout Blaauwberg and eventually in other communities.

During Phase 3 it will be very important that we achieve success
in the following:

  1. AWARENESS: Create community-wide awareness of the serious challenges we face in respect of the GEM – Global Entrepreneur Monitor Report and South Africa’s low entrepreneur development ability. Most are not aware of this report.
  2. CONCERN: Raise the level of concern in respect of the challenge.
  3. ACTION: Introduce BBN as a well researched, developed, tested and accepted plan that enables all to make an effective difference at the level of their choice.

We firmly believe that an informed mind make an informed decision. For this reason we will need to reach a large section of the community through presentations, the general media, BBN Role Players, literature, social media, word of mouth etc. In this respect this website will play an important role in gaining wide exposure and support online.

We see the BBN Community Bridge Builder (CBB) Programme as being one positive way in which all can identify with the vision, mission and plan, specifically developed to unite the community behind a common purpose.
